The department at Brainchild rehab centre services children from birth to 15 years of age with a wide range of developmental, orthopaedic, neuromuscular, congenital and rheumatic conditions. The department prides itself on its multidisciplinary team approach through Paediatric Occupational therapists , physiotherapist Speech and language therapists.
We treat the whole child, and encourage children to reach their highest level of functional capacity in all areas including their motor, intellectual and social skills. This goal is facilitated by our specially trained therapists through the use of cutting edge treatment techniques, and state of the art equipment.
Occupational therapy begins with a comprehensive initial evaluation, after which a treatment plan and protocol is developed. The child’s therapy sessions will typically involve a variety of evidence-based techniques, including:

Our pediatric rehabilitation program employs a team approach, in which our occupational therapists collaborate extensively with caregivers from other departments. For children with multi-disciplinary needs, thoughtful coordination between the occupational Therapy Department and these other disciplines occurs throughout the rehabilitation process as well as during the child’s reintegration back into school.
